KATIE COLWELL
director & cinematographer

Katie Colwell (she/her) brings to the Lapse team her strong leadership, eye for dynamic shot composition, and experience as a former competitive swimmer. She has doubled as a director and cinematographer on multiple projects including Dead-Enders (2020-2022), Horizon League Champions (2020), and Where Theater Began (2020). In the pool, she served as captain for the New Canaan High School swim team and the Oakland University’s Division I program, leading both to championship titles, and has gone head-to-head with Olympic medalists. With Lapse, Katie seeks to combine her artistic skills and competitive swimming experience to create a stunning story.

At the helm of the project is cinephile Soukaina who orders the chaos of creatives thoughts and conjures them into being! An innate problem solver, she brings her passion for logistics and extensive filmmaking experience to Lapse. Hailing from Casablanca, Morocco, Soukaina came to New York in pursuit of higher education where she got a BA from Fordham and a Master's from NYU, she found herself enjoyably entrenched in the world of advertising and film. She is currently a Producer at VERSUS Creative & Production Studio and makes independent films in her spare time. A natural at bringing people together and a master at logistics, Soukaina has an ear for narrative Soukaina is an award-winning producer and director whose work focuses on challenging systemic injustice and on shattering stereotypes around womxn, Arabs, and Muslims. With Lapse, Soukaina plans on combining her leadership skills and endless well of ideas to create a masterpiece.

MOE HAY
lead (Terry)

Moe Hay (she/her) is a Burmese-Chinese immigrant and actor who harnesses her trilingualism and lived experiences in Myanmar and the U.S. to incorporate cultural nuances and authenticity into her ever-evolving acting style. Her theatrical and on-camera training from Mills College and American Conservatory Theater have given her countless opportunities to collaborate seamlessly with independent and MFA creatives from all walks of life. She is currently based in San Francisco and is training with The Meisner Technique Studio.

LARISSA HANNA

Larissa is a first-generation Assyrian American editor and colorist based in Detroit, Michigan. She spent most of her time as a child watching movies with her mom and sister. Larissa took her love for storytelling and graduated from Oakland University with a BA in Cinema Studies, specializing in Filmmaking and minoring in Communication. Larissa also studied Korean language and cinema at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea. Today she continues to tell unique stories with filmmakers all over the country.

  • Violette Williams

    AMALIA

    Violette Williams (she/her) is an American actress with big aspirations for her career. She hopes to be a source of inspiration in her craft. She first studied at Identity School of Acting in LA and has been acting ever since. Her dream is to one day receive two oscars in one night and run her own TV show.

  • Luke LeBrun

    NICHOLAS

    Luke LeBrun (he/him) has been acting for over a year now and loves to do short and feature films. He also does some modeling print and industrial videos on the side. In his free time, he enjoys working out, reading, hanging out with friends, and spending time on the lake. “I’m so excited to be a part of such a unique, captivating project. Can’t wait to see all that it accomplishes!”

  • Andrea Eis

    WOMAN

    Andrea Eis (she/her) is an art filmmaker and a professor of film studies and production at Oakland University. She has her B.A. in classics, then went on to get a B.F.A. and M.F.A., specializing in film, photography and video. Andrea’s films, which she shoots mostly in Greece, are feminist reinterpretations of ancient Greek myths and plays. Andrea was one of Katie Colwell’s teachers at Oakland—and also had Larissa, Shannon and Amanda in her classes. Andrea is very excited to be part of Katie’s film.

  • Kenny Smith

    COACH

    Kenny Smith (he/him) hails from Gary, IN and is a graduate from MTM Chicago. After formally resigning from being a high school teacher and varsity football coach, he went all in on his company, Master of Original, and focused on his goal of being an actor. He’s an unique individual who's into sneakers, music, fitness, tattoos and mastering a multitude of crafts.

    Kerem Hardy (he/him) is an actor having been in multiple films including Chips, The Rest of Your Life, and Pure.

  • Ben Davis

    PARAMEDIC

    Ben Davis (he/him) was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI and recently graduated from Oakland University as a Mechanical Engineer with a specialization in Automotive Engineering. He was a distance freestyler for the Division I swim team at Oakland University, contributing to the teams conference championship titles 2018-2021.

  • Sebastian Aguirre

    COP

    Sebastian Aguirre (he/him) is a current Oakland University student, competing on the swimming and diving team. Aguirre contributed to the golden grizzlie’s conference championship title. He is currently studying Exercise Science and Pre-Physical Therapy.

  • Christina Choriatis

    Christina Choriatis is a NYC-based digital media producer with experience in live video production, virtual and livestream programming, video and audio editing, and post-production operations. She has been involved in all aspects of the content creation process from scheduling to booking crews to on-set producing for live-action video. Christina also has experience right in the editing room, overseeing edit schedules and asset deliverables during post-production. Christina has the coordination skills, as well as energy and enthusiasm, to take any project from concept to reality. Christina’s mission is to create compelling and captivating work that will educate and inspire audiences.

  • Stephanie Choriatis

    EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

    Stephanie Choriatis is a film producer of narrative and nonfiction media, primarily focused on education-based storytelling. She works as an educator for hands-on filmmaking and digital media education with students of all ages, from elementary school to college. Stephanie holds an MFA in Film (Creative Producing) from Columbia University. Her main goal is to use media to educate and empower others to create impactful media themselves.

  • Rutuja Sawant

    Rue is a freelance Gaffer, Key Grip and Camera Assistant based in Brooklyn. Rue is passionate about the inclusion and positive representations of queer South Asian characters on the big screen and strives to voice it in her work. She grew up in Mumbai, the land of Bollywood and attended the University at Buffalo, graduating with her B.A. in Film. Rutuja has been featured in Voyage LA, Medium and more for her work on independent productions.

  • Analia Lentini

    COMPOSER

    Analia Lentini is a music composer born in Argentina in September 1985. From the age of 8 she studied music and at the age of 11 she composed her first original instrumental work on the guitar. At the age of 19 he entered the Manuel Delaware Falla Superior Conservatory of Music, located in the center of the city of Buenos Aires where he studied with great Argentine masters and composers such as Máximo Pujol and Juan Falu among others. Graduated after 9 years receiving a Higher Teacher of Art in Music oriented to guitar and composition. Then she began to develop as a composer for audiovisual content creating music for productions in Europe, the United States and in India as well.
